Different protocols (adhesion evaluation and biofilm formation) for validating materials, coatings and components for aviation systems that will simulate, as much as possible, the contaminations developed on fuel systems has been performed. Subsequently, a protocol design in guideline format has been prepared for each protocol with the aim of standardized antimicrobial/antibiofilm material properties studies. The document include: i) the scope of the document, ii) a list of terms and conditions, iii) the definition of materials (microorganisms, reagents, culture media and solutions), iv) the apparatus needed, v) the procedures for performing the test, vi) the way to express the results, and vii) the guidelines for reporting the results.
